In tandem with our Indian counterpart, we are taking our experience and success as an opportunity to focus on pioneering the global eCommerce industry.

Though the name may be new, SOLVEDA embraces almost 20 years of excellence in custom development. Solveda (Salmon) eRetail Solution Provider of the Year

16-Feb-2013: Gurgaon, India. The Indian eRetail Congress 2013 selects Salmon India (Solveda India) as the "eRetail Solution Provider of the Year".

This year the two-day mega conference brought together retail professionals, corporates, manufacturers and suppliers at both national and international level for deliberations and interactions.

During the conference, awards were announced recognizing Achievers, Innovators and Suppliers, all who have contributed significantly towards the development of online retail in India.

Salmon India (Solveda India) were announced as the Indian eRetail Solution Provider of the Year.

It is with great pride and pleasure to accept this prestigious Award on behalf of the team at Solveda. Last year has been very rewarding as we were embraced by many major Indian Retailers, their continued trust in Solveda has been the foundation of our success.

Solveda Welcomes Fashion My Day

1-Feb-2013: Gurgaon, India. Solveda, an end-to-end eCommerce solutions and retail technology provider, will be tailoring its OFBiz-based BigFish platform for Indian luxury fashion house, FASHION MY DAY.

FASHION MY DAY, whose luxury lifestyle collection focuses on the latest fashion trends for discerning young men and women, is adopting BigFishs feature-rich usability layer in order to leverage the power of Open For Business (OFBiz). Given FASHION MY DAY's target market of young, tech-savvy shoppers, Solvedas implementation of solutions that embrace the latest technologies will deliver a shopping experience that is chic, modern, and powerfully effective.

We are very excited to be adding FASHION MY DAY to the portfolio of retailers using Solveda and BigFish for our retail technology solutions.

OFBiz/BigFish eCommerce Latest Updates

27-Jan-2013: Mineola. The latest release of our OFBiz / BigFish eCommerce platform is available. For more details please visit http://bigfish.solveda.com, the "Demo" section will provide a good overview of both an eCommerce implementation and the BigFish Admin Module.

Points of interest for this release:

Performance / Scalability:

  • we have continued to fine-tune the number of SQL's made via OFBiz services
  • and now completely use OFBiz caching
  • a great example is www.goldmedalhair.com, this has a good amount of products and is very efficient

More OFBiz features in BF Admin Module

  • the ability to add new customers
  • the ability to add new orders (we use a shopping / cart / checkout paradigm)

Payments

  • Cash on Delivery
  • Sagepay with tokenization (credit card is not stored in OFBiz, the returned unique "token" is stored as the reference)

And various fixes and minor enhancements

We continue to be busy with client implementations and so far both of our more recent clients are looking to upgrade to the latest version (this includes www.1800fishoil.com and www.eagansemporium.com). New client implementations will be announced over the coming months -- of particular interest is a couple of solutions for Indian retailers ( currency in Rupees, different address formats etc.).

On our immediate delivery schedule are two major items, now beyond the research stage, well into proof-of-concept and will be in full development very shortly:

Extended Sites

  • The ability to have a new Product Store and a completely re-purposed "extended site" capability
  • All content can be segregated to a specific store
  • Products can be repurposed, or separated into their own catalog
  • Leveraging a lot of the great work done in OOTB OFBiz

Entity Sync (staging -> production)

  • The ability to have a "staging" implementation that "synchronizes" to Production whenever is appropriate
  • So, our clients can prepare new content, promotions, home page imagery, products, pricing throughout a certain amount of time
  • and then "synchronize" everything into Production at one time

Items that may be of interest on our Road Map:

  • Integration with eBay, Google Shopping and Snapdeal
  • Spell checker, with "did you mean" functionality
  • EBS Payment Gateway, for Indian market

The extravagant product line was given center stage with large, high-quality images within a simplified page layout in order to focus on every inordinate detail. Embracing the most modern design practices, EAGAN'S EMPORIUM combines a contemporary yet elegant interface with the incredible functionality of the ofBiz framework.

EAGAN'S EMPORIUM originally lacked the appearance and bells & whistles one would expect to see in a Web store catering to the luxury product market. BigFish made countless improvements to how the site looks and operates therefore tightening up our brand identity.

Genesis Colors selects Solveda India

The latest BigFish implementation: 1800FishOil.com

September 2012

28-Sep-2012: Mineola. Solveda is proud to announce that a new BigFish eCommerce site went live last week. 1800FISHOIL.COM is on the path to becoming the "go to" marketplace for all fish oil (omega-3) nutraceuticals. In addition to having many of their governing Purity Products brands placed on the site, they are teaming up with other suppliers in order to expand their overall product line.

Using another instance of their Solveda-built ERP, 1800FISHOIL.COM customized their eCommerce front-end to include engaging call-to-action spots, detailed navigation, and calculated implementation of their social media outlets to create effective shopping experience.

We are immensely pleased at how efficiently BigFish prepared our unique front-end for 1800FISHOIL.COM. The powerful yet easy to use features allowed our development team to build and enhance our site within an impressive time-frame.

Carrefour selects Solveda India

1-Apr-2011: Mineola. The Carrefour Group has grown to become one of the worlds leading distribution groups. As the second largest worldwide retailer, and the largest in Europe, Carrefour currently operates 6 multi-format channels: Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, Hard Discount, Convenience stores, Cash & Carry Stores and E-commerce. The Carrefour group currently has over 15,600 stores, either company-operated or franchises. Solveda replaced their non-transactional corporate website with a fully developed, tested and pre-configured eCommerce solution using the IBM Websphere Commerce Server Platform.

Carrefour India is deeply committed towards the Cash and Carry market in India. We already have 2 stores in India and in the process of setting up many more stores in near future. We firmly believe in a multi-channel engagement with our customers whose business needs are quite unique and very different compared to any other brick and mortar stores. We have embarked on an ambitious journey within our E-Enablement project which will make our response to a customer query more accurate, timely and precise. Also, this is an excellent channel to communicate to our stakeholders such as Suppliers, Farmers, NGOs, and potential employees.

In this journey, we selected the IBM Websphere Commerce Server platform and partnered with Solveda (formerly Salmon India) for the complete implementation. Solveda is a niche and expert partner within the IBM Websphere Commerce space, and their deep technical and business understanding was critical to the successful launch of our site. Their multi-continent exposure and past experience greatly reduced our time to market and project cost.
